Dash Resort Langkawi is the latest addition of a 4-star hotel to the beautiful island of Langkawi and our team recently had the opportunity to visit this chic-hotel at Pantai Tengah, a few minutes walk away from the famed Pantai Cenang of Langkawi.
The hotel sports a neo-classical architecture with a very funky twist. The lobby is very chic but with funky decorations while music plays throughout the day, giving it a very trendy atmosphere. The avant-garde ambiance of the hotel flows throughout the hotel, from the lobby to the swimming pool, retail outlets and restaurant to the room.
We had the 20 sqm Dash Studio room which comes with a super comfortable king size bed (with amazing pillows), a wall mounted 32″ Smart LED TV, complimentary mini-bar and bottled water, a laptop compatible in-room safe, free WIFI as well as coffee making facilities.
The bathroom is handsomely designed with a separate shower stall (with rain-shower).
The room sports a white and blue theme, making it very hip and fun. Right in the middle of the big white bed also lies the iconic rabbit of Dash Resort.
From the room, we went to check out the amazing pool ~ which I would say is the highlight of the resort and one of the largest beach front pool on the island with an infinity edge towards the beach made with see-through material ~ great for instagram shots. There is also a sunken deck within the pool ~ great for an evening chill out session as well as the iconic bridge across the swimming pool.
Meals are served at the beach fronting MYA Kitchen beside the pool. The restaurant again is very chic, and serves a mixture of local and western delights. Breakfast is also served at the MYA Restaurant and its ala-carte buffet. You can choose from a large selection of items and its a buffet so order as much as you can eat. We did order quite a handful items of dishes of which some were quite nice.
Dash Resort Langkawi also comes with Flex Gym Center – their fitness center as well as the Rabbit Hole Spa which provides a comprehensive menu of spa treatments. There is also a small retail area within the resort.
Dash Resort Langkawi also comes with a 200 capacity The Chamber ballroom with two small meeting rooms on its wing ideal for small functions and events.
I would say this is one of the cool resort to be at, much to the flow with the upcoming trends in beach club resort. Room rates starts from about RM 380 depending on room type and season. One drawback of the resort though is the lack of secured parking within the resort and also the buffet breakfast service can get a little slow if the occupancy is high – so try to get your breakfast earlier if possible.
