Rated highly as one of the best modern hotel in the Southern city of Hatyai, Crystal Hotel Hatyai surely lived up to its reputation. Crystal Hotel Hatyai is easily accessible as it is located on Highway 407 as you enter the city of Hatyai from the South.
For those who loves shopping, be it in a modern mall or wholesale shopping or night markets – Crystal Hotel Hatyai is ideal. The hotel is located right across the largest shopping mall in Southern Thailand – Central Festival Mall and a block from Makro – the wholesale retailer giant. Within 15 minutes walk, guests will also be able to walk to the famed ASEAN Night Market as well the Greenway Night Market.
The are two main parking lots for the hotel – one across the main lobby and another basement car park. There are also spill-over parking lots behind the hotel. The hotel caters to a lot of functions, especially weddings, so if you are a guest, do remember to inform the security that you are a hotel guest to enjoy the reserved basement parking.
The lobby to the hotel is simple, spacious and nice as it also caters as the foyer to its 600 pax Grand Ballroom. The Bottega Restaurant is located beside the lobby counter and serves a variety of Thai and Western cuisine. The second floor also house a smaller 300-pax ballroom as well as several smaller breakout rooms, making it Crystal Hotel Hatyai of the most sought after MICE venue.
We checked into two rooms – the Landmark Suite as well as the Skyline Room during our visit to Hatyai recently. The rooms are bright, with light wood flooring, and mainly clean white decor. The 38 sqm Landmark Suite Room, is very spacious and is the only room-type in the hotel that comes with a free-standing whirlpool bathtub. The glass-walled bathroom is bright and if you are in for a romantic night – you can actually just roll up the blinds for a very sensual foam bath with your partner. Apart from the whirlpool tub, there is also a rain-forest shower ~ great water pressure and a separate toilet stall. Amenities are complete and guests are given two WIFI codes to be used for two separate devices.
Meanwhile the Skyline Room is 26sqm in size but does not seemed cramp as the expansive wall to wall window opens up to the lovely city of Hatyai. The Skyline Room also carry similar decor as the Landmark Suite, as room is very bright and carries the luxury modern feel.
The bathroom is also fitted with a bathtub, but unlike the Landmark Suite, this is just a regular bathtub but still it can be as sensual when you roll up the blinds that separate the bathroom from the bedroom. There is also a standing rain-forest shower in the bathroom as well as a separate toilet stall.
Daily buffet breakfast is served at Bottega Restaurant and the spread is acceptable. For our breakfast, we found the self-prepare tomyum noodles was great. The other items are pretty delicious, fried rice, sausages, porridge and vegetables. Fried eggs are pre-cooked, and of course there are various toast and pastries. There are also a variety of coffee and tea from the Nestle instant machine.
Overall, I would say the hotel lives up to its reputation ~ only drawback is the hotel is expanding and there are some construction work on-site. I believe once the new wing is ready, it will definitely one of the must go to hotel in Hatyai.
Currently there are no facilities in the hotel, but swimming pool and fitness center will be included in the new wing.
Room rates starts from only 1,200 THB upwards to 3,200 THB for the Landmark Suite, making it a very value for money stay in Hatyai.
