Chinese tech giant, Huawei had it’s global launch of its most powerful Mate series phone last night in Excel London, bringing to live the Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20, Mate 20 X and the Mate 20 RS (a collaboration with Porsche Design).
The Mate 20 has a 6.5 inch full HD display with fingerprint scanner on the back while the Mate 20 Pro features a 6.4 inch curved OLED 2K screen with the world’s first wireless “reverse charging” feature that enable the phone to be turned into a power bank.
The Mate 20 has a 4,000 mAh battery while the Mate 20 Pro comes with a 4,200 mAh battery. The Mate 20 X meanwhile comes with a whopping 5,000 mAh battery to power its 7.2 inch 18:7:9 ratio screen for up to two days.
The Mate 20 series phone are powered by Huawei’s latest 7nm 980 Kirin chipset, which claimed to recognized 4,500 images per minute and run 20% faster than its predecessor. This chipset will improve the phone’s AI capabilities for face recognition and object detection, thus if the subject is dancing or running in front of the camera, the smartphone will still be able to focus on the person in real time.
The Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X and Mate RS are equipped with a 40-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 20-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 8-megapixel camera with 3x zoom while the Mate 20 sports a 16 megapixel ultra-wide camera, 12-megapixel wide angle camera and a 8-megapixel camera with 2x zoom.

The Huawei Mate 20 series is designed to be the best Mate for consumers, accompanying and empowering them to enjoy a richer more fulfilled life with their higher intelligence, battery lives and powerful camera performance,” said Huawei consumer business group CEO Richard Yu.
The Mate 20 is priced from €799 (RM3,838), the Mate 20 Pro costs €1,049 (RM5,038), the Mate 20 X is priced at €899 (RM4,318), and the Mate RS starts at €1,695 (RM8,141).
